·         From the File menu select Page Setup…

·         Set all the Margins (Left, Right, Top, Bottom) to .25

·         Clear Header & Footer lines

·         Print Map set Orientation to Landscape

·         Print Map & Report set Orientation to Portrait

·         Remove Background Color Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced Tab

Map Tools

For more information on the map tools, click HELP in the Data Tools.

 

Full Extent returns the map of the whole county area.

 

Clear erases all highlighted areas and measurement lines from the map.

 

Previous Extent returns the map to the last previously viewed area.

 

Overview Map turns on/off a smaller map of the whole county.

 

Measure distances in feet and area in square footage or acreage.

 

Identify Parcel retrieves data of a parcel on a click with out selecting or redrawing.

 

Zoom In magnifies an area drawn by a selection window with mouse or on a click.

 

Zoom Out increases view area drawn by a selection window with the mouse or on a click.

 

Pan moves the map area in any direction by click & dragging with the mouse

 

Select Parcel highlights & retrieves data of a parcel(s) on a mouse click.

 

Print Map opens a print window with a map, legend, & title in landscape orientation.

returns the parcel information window back to the Welcome (information) page.

The search tools are not case sensitive, formats & examples are given for each option and partial information will broaden your search. Do not use punctuation.

 

Search Options

 

Parcel Number the six (6) digit number that identifies the tax parcel

 

Owner Name the Last, First, Middle Initial of the property owner.

           

Owner Address the street address or PO Box where the owner’s bill(s) are mailed.

Number, Direction, Name, Type

 

Physical Address the street address of the location of the property.

Number, Direction, Name, Type (Trail abbreviated TRCE)

 

Deed Book/Deed Page the four (4) digit number of the recording instrument book & page of the Gaston County Register of Deeds. Can be a Deed or an Estate File.

 

Plat Book/Plat Page the three (3) digit number of the recording plat (survey) book & page of the Gaston County Register of Deeds.

 

Book-Map-Parcel the old (13) thirteen digit tax parcel number:

·         10 071(A) 004 13000

 

Owner ID the (8) eight digit owner account number.

 

PIN Number the (10) ten digit Parcel Identification Number

based on the centroid point of the tax parcel and the NC State Plan Grid according to Gaston County GIS.

 

Neighborhood Code By Name the name of a comparable taxable area in Gaston County.

 

Neighborhood Code By Number the (4) four digit code that corresponds with the Neighborhood Name.

 

Acres (Range) an analysis tool for searching for tax parcels with acreage in a given range.

 

Sales Date (Range) an analysis tool for searching for tax parcels with sales in a given year.

           

Sales Amount (Range) an analysis tool for searching for tax parcels sales with in a monetary range.

Sales are based on the Excise Tax paid at the time of the deed recording.

 

Search For Sales an analysis tool for searching for comparable tax parcels.

 

Search For Sales By Township an analysis tool for searching for comparable tax parcels, using the Search for Sales options plus a pull down menu of Gaston County Townships

 

Search For Sales By Neighborhood Code an analysis tool for searching for comparable tax parcels, using the Search for Sales options plus a (4) four digit Gaston County Neighborhood Code.

 

Search For Sales By Neighborhood Name an analysis tool for searching for comparable tax parcels, using the Search for Sales options plus a pull down menu of Gaston County Neighborhood Names.
